When I joined Saratoga Central Catholic School, I quickly realized that our athletics programs were a hidden gem—not because of talent, but because they lacked proper digital marketing. With 90% of students involved in sports, it was a major part of student life that deserved stronger promotion.
I launched a dedicated athletics social media presence, separate from the school’s main pages, to ensure sports coverage didn’t overshadow academics. I implemented a game day graphics system to increase fan engagement, provided real-time score updates, and actively used Twitter to connect with sports media, while Facebook and Instagram targeted our fanbase.
A key initiative was Media Day, where I led a team of student photographers from my content creation class to produce thousands of high-quality images. We scheduled all varsity teams at different times, set up multiple backdrops, and created a content bank to sustain engagement throughout the season.
This approach boosted visibility, fan involvement, and media attention, ensuring SCC’s athletics received the recognition they deserved in the digital space.
